A forlorn signboard on the side of a desert road in Bouse, Arizona, topped with a small weathered American flag, centers this painting. Behind the sign the gorgeous sky is striped
with orange clouds as the sunset approaches. Still standing, the signboard only has a few pieces of wood tacked on the right where hand painted letters advertise the acreage for sale with a faded phone number. Birds are flying in to rest along the top of the sign frame. Mountains rise in the distance after the road vanishes, a short metal barbed wire fence runs along the road, enclosing the vacant property.

The door is ajar, inviting you and your taxes with neon signs. A covered patio attached at the front provides welcome relief from the hot desert sun. Bubba's sign is on a tall metal pole, emphasizing his business with dollar signs. A recreational vehicle is parked on the far side of the building and a flower planter next to the door brightens up the scene.
